RoHS 

Scale-Tron supports and believes in protecting the environment.  Most of our products are now totally free of toxic substances and we are working towards making all our products green - i.e. toxin free. 

The European Directive RoHS (Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment), is enforced throughout the European Community after July 1st , 2006. The directive aims to protect human health and the environment by restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in new equipment. To comply with the RoHS directive, the restricted use of Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr 6+), Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE) must be ensured.
 

Most of the products made by Scale-Tron Inc. come under Category 9, ”Monitoring and control instruments“ and are thus exempt from the RoHS directive. Many components and processes are already in compliance, however, and we are converting all products as soon as it is feasible and possible.

Product identification

As we make the transition, we will be using up our existing inventory and then replacing these parts with RoHS compliant. Part number for RoHS compliant parts have not changed.  In others, the RoHS compliance is identified by the product serial number.  The product status is designated by the following pictures in this web site and that of Scaime, our primary load cell supplier:

	Indicates that the RoHS compliance is planned for this product, but the process is not complete.
	Indicates that we are able to produce RoHS compliant parts, but non-compliant parts remain in stock. You can request a declaration certificate indicating the first serial number of compliant parts.
	Indicate that all produced parts and all in-stock parts are RoHS compliant. You can request a declaration certificate indicating the first serial number of compliant parts.
