The XC continuous
("pug-mill")
mixer is designed to produce mixed concrete based on
proportioning by volume or weigh belts. Material is introduced from two or more
aggregate conveyors, cement screw feeder and flow-metered water. The
material is mixed as it progressed down the length of the mixer, giving a continuous
stream of mixed concrete suitable for RCC (Roller Compacted Concrete), mine backfill and other
less critical high-volume applications.
The XC is smaller and much more cost
effective than a twin shaft mixer for an
equivalent output, per hour.
Shaft seals
and their lubrication are similar to the Ocmix RG twin shaft mixer. They
seal positively and are good for many
years of operation with no maintenance. Both seals and bearings
are lubricated by a grease pump. Bearings and seals have
positive separation, to reduce contamination and wear of the bearing
even if the seal should ever leak.
As in the larger twin shaft models, all mountings for
gearboxes and bearings are machined after fabrication is complete, with the whole mixer on the
machining center, to ensure true faces
and dimensional accuracy.
THOROUGH MIXING ACTION
The paddles in the XC mix the concrete while
conveying it down the length of the mixer and eventually out of the
discharge door at the far end. Mixing is thorough and the
resulting product is homogeneous. Paddles and liner plates are of
tough, wear resistant Hardox 400 steel and are replaceable.
FOUR SIZES
The smallest size, XC
100, uses a different gearbox with direct drive; these allow the motors to be
mounted at a number of different angles to suit the application.

Note that output is flow rate of concrete during continuous
production; this is uncompacted concrete with 112 to 125 lb/cu. ft bulk density.
